Fonte 40 - I.G.T. Maremma Toscano Bianco

Grapes: Ansonica 40%, Vermentino 40, Fiano 20%

Vines: grapes from vineyards located on the Capalbio and Orbetello area, on the Tuscany Coast and our vineyards, situated in the Scansano district at FonteQuaranta, 200 m above sea level, facing North, overlooking the Amiata mountain. Density at 5680 p/ha, production per plant: 800 gr of grapes.

Vinification: the wine is fermented in stainless steel and concrete vats.

Tuscany’s Maremma can offer great white wines too. This wine has the typical mediterranean character of Ansonica (also known as Inzolia) and Vermentino, and the exoticness of Fiano. It’s a medium to full bodied wine, fresh and mineraly, due to the position of the vineyards to the North and the stoney soil in which they grow. This is a wine that can be kept in bottle for years. But why would you?

Bott. produced: 5000 with the harvest 2007
